SARAH LAI STIRLAND
Sarah Stirland is a former freelance writer who covered legal issues related to intellectual property, telecommunications, spectrum reform and privacy for publications such as The Seattle Times, The Village Voice, and Good Housekeeping. She authored an article concerning online communities for the University of California's Online Journalism Review. In 2001, Stirland attended Harvard University law school's inaugural Internet Law program designed to brief members of the press and policy community on key Internet legal issues of the day. As a former staff reporter at Red Herring, she was part of the team that helped Red Herring.com win its Gold Award for "Best Online Consumer Web site" in Folio magazine's Editorial Excellence Awards program in 2000. Stirland is a graduate of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
