Reno Marioni, founder of Tangent Mobile has more than 15 years of extensive marketing and strategic business development experience in the wireless, mobile, and technology industry. Marioni's diverse background ranges from software engineering to product marketing/management, business development and sales for leading mobile, Internet, and technology companies. As founding partner of Tangent Mobile, Marioni works with companies from Asia, North America, and Europe to establish partnerships and generate revenues with top-tiered market mobile applications/service providers for the mobile media & entertainment segments, both in the U.S and worldwide. Prior to Tangent Mobile, Marioni was CEO and cofounder of Adventure Zone Network (AZN), an award-winning Digital Travel Entertainment company that acquired, produced, and syndicated rich-media content to millions of viewers around the world. Marioni was instrumental in creating the company and successfully raising two rounds of financing. He also launched next-generation products/services and managed all aspects for the start up. As an experienced entrepreneur, Marioni held executive-level product marketing and business development roles at other industry-leading companies such as Marimba, Infoscape, and Sun Microsystems where he managed and drove the creation, management, and launch of several Java and OS -related products including NeXTSTEP (now Apple Mac OS X), Solaris, Server-side Java products, and Castanet among others. He was also a software engineer for the San Diego Supercomputer Center (NCSA). Marioni won the 2004 Webby Award (Broadband) for PBS|POV as coproducer and has written occasionally for WIRED on Digital Video/Media. Marioni holds a bachelors degree in Computer Science/Mathematics from the University of California, San Diego.
