LARRY LINIETSKY
Sr. Vice President, Worldwide Business Development

As Senior Vice President of Worldwide Business Development, Larry Linietsky is responsible for evaluating and negotiating strategic arrangements and partnerships formed by Napster, the leading online music service, including distribution/affiliate relationships, and technology alliances/partnerships. Mr. Linietsky is heavily involved in strategic licensing of the Napster brand to companies like Samsung, and was responsible for the creation of the innovative Napster Pre-Paid Card and the groundbreaking site license deal with Penn State University. He is also responsible for helping the senior team develop strategy and planning around evolution of the consumer offering, pricing and positioning.

Mr. Linietsky transitioned to Napster from pressplay, where he was responsible for all business development initiatives from that company’s inception. Prior to that, he served as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Business Development for Jimmy and Doug's Farmclub.com, a convergence-media music company within the Universal Music Group family. In addition to overseeing new business deals, Mr. Linietsky also contributed to the development of the company's overall strategy.

Mr. Linietsky was a founding member of Universal eLabs, the Internet strategy arm of the Universal Music Group, and he also served as that company’s Senior Director of Business Development, responsible for the analysis, creation, and implementation of GetMusic with Bertelsmann Music Group, the first venture between two major music companies on the Internet. He was also involved in NIGEL, a collaboration between Universal Music Group, Bertelsmann, Matsushita, and AT&T, designed to build a digital distribution standard, and oversaw Universal Music Group’s investments in Listen.com, ClickRadio.com and Russell Simmons' One World (RS1W.com), now known as 360HipHop.com and owned by BET.

Prior to Universal eLabs, Linietsky was Associate Director of Strategic Planning and Business Development at Universal Music Group. He has also worked for MCA Music Entertainment Group and at Sibson & Company Management Consulting.

Mr. Linietsky holds a B. A. in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania as well as a B.S. in Economics from its Wharton School of Business.
